Windows

Posted by Picasa
The stained glass pictures in Annie's blog were the prompt for me to post these pictures.
I mentioned a few posts back that we were in the process of moving , well we have finally got an agreed date, and I have been busy taking pictures of the house as a reminder. These are some panels in the front windows. When we saw these nearly 30 years ago they were one of the reasons why we knew that this was the house.
All the other sound economic reasons against buying it were quickly forgotten.

  1. And you are going to leave these window panels behind? Shame on you both!

Are you speaking of the trucking stories that I had sent you long ago?

  2. They go with the house as they are the windows ...unfortunately.

    Yes those the stories.

  3. If I had those windows in my home, I would have a hard time going outside!!!! They are so lovely!

  5. How lovely to see these. I like your windows very much more than the one I posted.

It's a good thing you've taken these photos to keep because you're going to miss those windows.

  6. I guess it's sad to leave these behind but then I expect you are handing them on to someone who will care for them. Its nice to think they will get the same pleasure from them as you perhaps?

  7. Get some sleep now, DaveM. You can't afford to get behind on your sleep quotient, considering you subsist on 5 hours only. I'd be dragging, I know it.

  8. Oh, my gosh, Dave, those are so beautiful! I think I'd be paying to have someone replace them - and taking those with me!

  9. I wish I had those windows. I hope the new people don't like mass double glazing.

  14. What beautiful stained glass!

But I'll bet your new home has some wonderful new items that will become as loved as those panels were.

    Good luck with moving, Dave!

  15. Hope to see some pictures of your new house. Those stories will eventually leak out somewhere on my blog. lol

By some chance do you happen to know who the artist was who created those windows?

  16. I had the same thing happen once - the buyer pulled out on the day of closing. It was nerve wracking, to say the least, since the movers were there to finish up and move us out.

But, you're right, on the grand scale of things, it didn't rank as a very big issue. And, the bonus, you'll still have your windows and other much loved features of the home to enjoy a little longer.

Enjoy your time away. I'll be thinking of you.

    Annie
