Just after passing the coal wagon sculpture you cross this beautiful viaduct, its the Maesycymmer to Hengoed viaduct.
The views from the top are stunning and its a thrill to be able to cycle over it.
We really are very lucky to have access to such scenery.

  1. Here in the U.S. many old railway lines have been dedicated as biking trails. It has been done there too? What a glorious ride that would be (or walk, in my case).

  2. Gosh what an awesome structure. In the link you gave and in that photo I was amazed at the houses below - they must have rattled like crazy when a train passed overhead.

  3. You are lucky to have access to scenery like this! It must have been inspiring cycling across that bridge. What a beautiful place. You'll have to go back in the summer and show us what it looks like then too.
